NDG Linux Essentials Course Overview
The Linux Essentials course, developed and supported by Networking Academy partner NDG, teaches students the fundamentals of the Linux operating system and command line, and basic open source concepts.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
* Understand how Linux is used and the basics of the command line.
* Apply skills using Linux virtual machine with step-by-step and hands-on lab activities.
* Build foundational knowledge for progressively mastering Linux commands.
* Connect with the global Cisco Networking Academy community.
Students utilize a web browser to access the Linux Essentials content modules, lab exercises and virtual machines via Cisco NetAcad.com. Each learner has hands-on access to a Linux virtual machine to practice, explore, and test Linux command-line concepts. The 16-chapter, 70-hour course can be offered as instructor-led or students can enroll on their own.
NDG Linux I Course Overview
Linux I & II is a 2-course curriculum, developed and supported by Networking Academy partner NDG. Students learn basic Linux system administration skills and prepare for LPIC-1 or Linux+ Certification.
By the end of NDG Linux I, students will be able to:
* Perform maintenance tasks with the command line
* Install and configure a computer running Linux
* Configure basic networking
* Take exam 101 toward LPIC-1 certification or LX-103 towards Linux+ certification
The course is designed to be taken over a full semester with roughly 70 hours of lectures and content, 27 chapters with chapter exams, 24 lab exercises, mid-term and final assessments.
NDG Linux II Course Overview
CLinux I & II is a 2-course curriculum, developed and supported by Networking Academy partner NDG. Students learn basic Linux system administration skills and prepare for LPIC-1 or Linux+ Certification.
By the end of NDG Linux II, students will be able to:
* Use shells, scripting and data management
* Become familiar withinterfaces and desktops
* Gain proficiency in administrative tasks and essential system services
* Advance understanding of networking fundamentals and security
* Take exam 102 toward LPIC-1 certification ir LX-104 toward Linux+ certification
The course is designed to be taken over a full semester with roughly 70 hours of lectures and content, 19 chapters with chapter exams, 19 lab exercises, mid-term and final assessments.
